My lonely farm upbringing was one attuned to regimented tasks, allowing little time for “frivolous” endeavors. The time I earned in 'the little room' playing piano and singing was what I lived for. Isolation can bear gifts and every musician I know has their own story. It is my mission at Mary Ellen Records to make those obsessions fruitful beyond the confines of small spaces.
